The Lodge

Valhalla Lodge offers 360 degree views of the surrounding beauty of the Wakatipu Basin, Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain Range.

Crafted out of schist, larch and totara, the recently completed 550sq metre (5100 sq ft) Lodge has been finished to a luxury five-star standard, set on 4000 sq meters (1 acre), as part of the secluded gated community of 'Lakeside Estates'.

By night we invite you to sit back and enjoy the cheery glow from one of the two log fires and listen to your favourite CD and bury your head in a good book whilst savouring a good whisky or a Central Otago Pinot Noir. A selection of vintage aged NZ wines, port, liqueurs and single malt whisky is available in the underground wine cellar. Guests are required to replace what they use with a current vintage of the same wine (or other spirit or equivalent).

If entertaining is your thing, there is a seriously outfitted open kitchen with family dining for 10 or for formal entertaining a dining area can seat 16. The kitchen is also equipped with gas/electric oven, microwave and 2 dishwashers.

The adjacent family room opens to a 90 sq metre lanai, creating an indoor/outdoor living area with a gas fired BBQ and dining where you can take advantage of the warm sunny days.

Valhalla Lodge has four bedrooms and three bathrooms (the study can be a 5th bedroom). Planned for 2010 is a second master bedroom with toilet on the first floor.

To keep you warm through the winter, heating is provided by a log burner (family room), open fire (formal lounge), heat pump (master bedroom) and underfloor heating.

For your cars we provide you with a double garage and an additional single garage upon request.
